Meet Some of Our Prospective Future Residents!

I’m Ella

Ella Guest was born and raised in Gilford NH and currently lives there with with her parents, John and Katie, as well as her older brother, Connor and younger twin sisters, Caroline and Maddie.  As well as sharing her home with her large family, Ella gets to enjoy the company of her two dogs, two cats, a leopard gecko and many fish.  Watching the antics of the cats and snuggling with the dogs as well as laughing with her siblings are highlights at home.

Ella was born 19 years ago with a genetic chromosomal abnormality, Trisomy 10q, that lead to many global delays as well as physical challenges related to low tone and scoliosis. Ella has been well supported by the staff of the Gilford school system and just graduated from Gilford High School in June of 2023.  While at school Ella enjoyed participating in Unified club and Unified spots,  playing soccer and basketball all four years in high school as well as in middle school.  Her favorite pastime while playing these sports was talking to the referees (while on the field!)  and cheering on her teammates as well as the other team.  In school Ella most enjoyed attending sporting events, socializing with the amazing students and stopping to talk to everyone in the hallways.

Outside of school, Ella enjoys going to the Laconia Airport with her Grandpa and getting tours of the aircrafts from any Captain willing to let her on their plane or helicopter.  She also enjoys emailing all of her friends, visiting her grandparents at Taylor Home, waiting to visit with the mailman, tracking the weather and airplanes in various states and watching many YouTube videos on any and all subjects.

Ella recently joined 603 United and has enjoyed various social events.  Social is the best word to describe Ella, as she never fails to want to talk to someone, asking them many questions about their life, communicating through her iPad. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and a desire to help out in any way she can.

Now out of high school, Ella is transitioning to working in the community and can be found stocking shelves at Hannaford, cleaning at Laconia Pet, tending to flowers and rolling silverware at Ames Farm and other places throughout town.  Ella is looking forward to the transition into the next phase of her adult life and living in the Gilford community that she knows and loves will be an integral part of her success and happiness.
